Planning and Environmental
TNEI has a team of town & country planners, environmentalists and technical specialists who work with clients and stakeholders to deal with the planning and compliance issues surrounding energy projects.
With exceptional experience and expertise drawn from careers in local authority, consultancy, waste management and wind farm development, the TNEI Planning and Environmental team has an intimate understanding of the consenting process from both ‘sides of the fence’.
In addition to wind, the group also works on a range of biomass, waste to energy and micro-hydro projects. Clients include large utilities and smaller niche developers with our involvement ranging from providing discrete packages of expertise to complete project management. We undertake work ranging from initial site finding through to providing representations at planning enquiries.
TNEI has managed the consenting process for a range of traditional wind farms including Section 36 sites and smaller turbine clusters.
TNEI provides expertise to the public sector at a regional and national level. We have undertaken several regional wind resource studies, provided guidance on planning issues, delivered national programmes of planning workshops, undertaken long term awareness raising tours, developed regional strategies as well as contributing to the development of national policy.
