Energy Management

TNEI’s energy management group works with businesses of all sizes to deliver energy management solutions appropriate for individual clients.  Companies can be confident that a highly skilled team is looking after their energy interests leaving them free to look after their business.

Energy Audits
generally the first step in energy management.  Current sites and processes are audited to identify cost saving opportunities and set targets and make recommendations for improvements.

Energy Policy Formulation and Development
TNEI works with clients to help them develop a coherent energy policy which will form the basis of a company’s commitment to reducing energy use and costs.  Companies that have a Climate Change Agreement are required to have an energy policy.  TNEI can also assist with the development of Corporate Social Responsibility policy and reporting.

Monitoring and Targeting  TNEI offers a complete range of monitoring and targeting solutions from basic systems producing simple energy usage reports to installing bespoke energy monitoring systems.  KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) can be agreed for monitoring energy use.  TNEI also provides a hosted monitoring and targeting service for clients.

Energy Training Site specific, bespoke energy training is an important and increasingly popular tool that TNEI provides to companies to raise awareness of energy efficiency and highlight how behavioural changes can benefit organisations.  Increasingly clients are recognising the importance of communicating issues relating to energy efficiency, sustainability and carbon reduction to thier staff.  TNEI works with our clients to identify their needs and to provide and deliver tailored training packages to all staff, senior managers, green teams and energy champions or trainers within the business.

Carbon Reduction Commitment - Energy Efficiency Scheme  Energy Consultants at TNEI have been studying the legislation for the past year and have acquired an in-depth knowledge of how the new rules will impact on organisations.

TNEI has also been operating one of only three CRC Simulation schemes in the UK, offering participating organisations an insight into the legislation and how it will impact on their business and allowing them to get CRC-ready.  The Carbon Reduction North East project was funded by the regional development agency, One North East.  The lessons learnt from the Simulation are helping participating organisations prepare for the CRC Scheme.  Through the Simulation TNEI are assisting participants with data collection and verification, the development of carbon management plans and also helping to ensure the internal buy-in required.  TNEI has also compiled league tables and hosted 'virtual' trading events through this project.  Both have been important activitites as they have illustrated clearly but 'safely' how organisations can be affected both financially and reputationally by the CRC.  For further information visit the Carbon Reduction North East website: http://www.onenortheast.co.uk/carbonreduction/index.cfm

TNEI is also helping organisations develop carbon strategies to ensure that they benefit from ongoing measures to reduce their emissions and is working in a contract energy management capacity for many that will be affected by CRC.

Carbon Trust Accredited Consultancy TNEI is able to provide fully accredited Carbon Trust energy efficiency consultancy delivering the Government supported Carbon Trust programme.  This service consists of business energy efficiency audits with a report outlining a prioritised programme of recommended actions.  If your organisation's energy bills exceed £50,000 per annum, these surveys and reports are free.

There are further Carbon Trust services available should the recommendations within these reports need detailed expert input or include renewable energy as part of the on-site solution.

ISO 16001 - New Energy Management Quality Standard TNEI has been working with companies over the past year to help them prepare for the new Energy Management Quality Standard, ISO 16001.  We ensure our clients have the relevant data, procedures and paperwork in place should they wish to apply for accredication to the ISO 16001 Standard.
